What is the Crocodile Farm?
The Crocodile Farm is located in Pierrelatte in Drôme. This animal park, the largest in Europe dedicated to the discovery of reptiles, was created in 1994.
Beyond its tourist appeal, this tropical farm collaborates with scientists and contributes to the conservation and protection of the species present on the site.
The tropical greenhouse and botanical garden at the Crocodile Farm host over 600 animals in semi-freedom (crocodiles, snakes, turtles, iguanas, birds, etc.), as well as more than 600 remarkable varieties and species of exotic plants.
What Activities at the Crocodile Farm?
Many activities are offered in a fun and educational way.
Every day, throughout the year, documentaries and stories are offered, along with animal encounters (turtles, iguanas, birds, etc.), and you can even participate in an escape game! (by reservation).
And how about witnessing the awakening of the tropical reserve? Enjoy an exotic breakfast before the first visitors arrive and take a guided tour to see the wildlife wake up. Very tempting, isn’t it? (online reservation only).
If you’re not an early bird, the ‘croco aperitif’ is for you. After the farm closes, you can watch the crocodiles being fed, with commentary from a keeper, and chat over a tropical aperitif.
Another option: if you want to organize an unforgettable birthday for your child, it’s possible at the Crocodile Farm! The program includes a self-guided tour of the tropical farm, activities with a guide, and of course, the birthday snack to celebrate this wonderful day.
